The El Paso Museum of Archaeology Extends Two Exhibits Free Admission to both

Ancient Mexico Exhibit on view through April 1, 2012

On display in the Ancient Mexico exhibit are five featured Maya ceramic vessels loaned by the University Museum of New Mexico State University and artifacts from the museum of archaeology’s collection representing the Maya, Aztec, and West Mexico cultures.

Watercolor Paintings of Rock Art at Hueco Tanks Exhibit on view through June 3, 2012

The twenty six images in this exhibit, which include hundreds of pictographs, are reproductions of watercolors by Forrest Kirkland, the first artist to systematically document prehistoric rock art in Texas. These images are provided courtesy of Texas Archaeological Research Laboratory, University of Texas at Austin.
