Franklin Mountains State Park

Franklin Mountains State Park

Explore an unspoiled Texas Mountain! This state park is the largest urban wilderness park in the nation and comprises almost 24, 000 acres. The park encompasses an entire Chihuahuan Desert Mountain Range. Culturally the park is rich in archeological and historical sites and the geology is very dynamic. The park serves primarily as a day-use facility but does offer a very limited number of primitive (tents-only) and self-contained RV camping sites. Nature study, picnicking and hiking are common activities along with mountain biking and rock climbing. (No water available)
