Hueco Tanks State Historic Site is known for its many American Indian rock paintings and unique geology. Pictograph tours are offered, as well as hiking, picnicking, climbing and camping opportunities. Admission: adults (13 and above) $4; children (12 and under), seniors (77 years and older), and veterans with at least 60% disability, free: Texas residents 65 and over, 50% discount. Summer hours: Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; Friday-Sunday 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; winter hours: daily, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Limited access; reservations recommended.
