Eagle in the Sun Triathlon

El Paso's only USAT-sanctioned race takes place over Labor Day weekend. Eagle in the Sun Triathlon starts with a 400-meter swim in an Olympic-size indoor pool. The 20k bike course is an out-and-back on the historical Mission Trail, and the 5k run takes place on the Tigua Indian reservation. Individuals and relay teams welcome. Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the CureĀ® and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to eradicate breast cancer. Our mission is to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Since its inception, Komen has invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our mission, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
